A successful career comes from a good education everyone would like to believe. A great education comes from a spectacular university/college. That is the traditional way of having a successful career. During the process of a high school student choosing and applying to colleges. It also a time to study for what they want to major in. There are multiple career paths that someone can take, it can be worth wild or not worth much. Many majors or career paths are not worth going to school for in some options.
There are many jobs that only require its employees to have a two year degree. For an example being a manager at a store doesn't require a college education but usually just a high school diploma, or a GED. “Of course, a Head Start teacher's education is important. But a diploma from a four-year college is not needed. There situations at times where someone didn't need a certain level of education but just experience, or a connect. Employers sometimes just hire someone with experience over than someone who has a higher educations. A blog was written about work experience and educational qualifications. With the blog post it stated that many years ago a woman was a nurse in Jefferson hospital and worked there for many years, with the same salary as a any other nurse. What set her about is that she only had an 8th grade education versus the other nurses who went to nursing school. Now days you would rarely find a nurse who didn't go to nursing school, or at least training with a decent salary. “Many of the fastest growing jobs in the U.S. don't require a four-year degree, according to a Bureau of Land Statistics report.”
It is opinion based that two people with the same degree and qualification are up for one job. one out of both people graduated from an Columbia University (Ivy league college), and the other person graduating from Penn State University (Non- Ivy league college). The person with an ivy league degree is most likely to just get job, based of the college they attended. Ivy league colleges has a ridiculous acceptance rate Yale being under 7%, and Cornell being 15.15%. In high school now days, the question that is being asked is, is your major a good money making career path? Going to a college based on a particular program is a hard process. You have to be approved by the program, and sometimes be accepted the college as well. Research the program and see if the program helps students get internships and jobs. But going to a school based of financial reasons is another reason why “career paths” are hard to follow. “Potential college enrollees they’re quite misleading, because they’re only providing income information based on a select few “success” stories”
Financial aid is a legit reason for someone to chose a college. Who wants to be $200,000 in debt, to not only get a great job with a good paying job. “By the year 2018 there will be 14 million jobs available, well-paying jobs, which will require more than a high school diploma but less than a college diploma. Right now, a graduate of a community college, which is a two-year college, on average, makes more than a graduate of a four-year college.“
